Why buy organic bread?
Organic refers to an earth-friendly method of growing and processing foods. This method protects and conserves water, stops erosion, and helps preserve our environment for generations to come. Our organic breads are produced in compliance with National Organic Standards and are made with organic flour and natural leavening.
What is the difference between natural and organic?
There is no government-mandated standard of identity existing for natural foods; however it typically means no preservatives, no artificial colors or flavors. On the other hand, there are organic standards that have strict USDA guidelines.
Who certified our organic bread?
Quality Assurance International (QAI), which is one of the leading independent certifiers of organic food systems in the country.
Why no organic symbol on packaging?
Any certified organic product that is baked at the in-store bakery loses its certified status, but not it's organic status. It may be represented as certified and it may not display the USDA organic seal, or the certifying agent's name. It may, however, still be sold and labeled as organic.
