Roast Pork and Sweet Pear Sandwich

  • 1 loaf of Artisan Bread
  • 4 oz. roast pork, sliced 1/4” thick
  • 2 oz. mild cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 1 bartlett pear, cored and sliced
  • 1 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. honey mustard

In a small bowl mix sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Heat 1 tbsp. butter in a skillet on medium high heat until foam subsides. Place pear slices in skillet and sprinkle with contents in small bowl. Heat pear slices 1 to 2 minutes and turn over to heat one more minute.

Sandwich assembly: Slice bread lengthwise. Spread honey mustard onto one slice of bread. Layer with sliced pork, pear slices, and cheddar cheese. Cover sandwich with second slice of bread. Add 1 tbsp. butter to skillet and grill until golden. Turn over sandwich to grill until cheese is melted and bread is golden. Remove sandwich from heat and cut sandwich into serving portions.
